SUMMARY: An early pioneer, J.C. Preston,

in 1886, in the form of a "trust" for the people of the
San Gabriel Valley to bury their dead. No official
records remain of the exact year of the first burials,
however, documentation of 1876 does exist and it is
believed as early as 1872 the site was used for burial
of local pioneers, their descendants. Records indicate
that there are Civil War and other war veterans, as well
as Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). In 1991,
the Cemetery was dedicated as a Glendora Historical
Landmark.
