Griffith Observatory is a non-profit educational
institution whose purpose is to provide information on
astronomy and related sciences to the public. The
Observatory is divided into three main areas: the Hall
of Science astronomy museum, the telescopes, and the

Multimedia Tour of the Solar System
An
excellent site for demonstrating the educational and
visual appeal of the Internet. Nine Planets contains
information, pictures, and statistics relating to the
nine planets and their sun and moons. Information about
comets, meteors, "other solar systems," clouds, and
asteroids is also presented.

Partner with NASA providing "daily news about NASA
research, live sky events, space weather, and
opportunities...to participate in real NASA science."
Featured is an affiliated site
Space Weather, which respectively provide lesson
plans and activities about science in the news and
information about current weather phenomena. News is
archived (select More Headlines) back to 1996.
Sky and Telescope
Learn about the sky above and outer space beyond from
Sky and Telescope magazine. Includes weekly
'observing highlights'.
StarDate Online
Excellent educational astronomical site. Sections
include stargazing tips; Sky Almanac; telescope guide;
annual events; full-text of their daily StarDate radio
program; AstroGlossary; FAQ file; Solar System Guide;

Virtual Tour of the Sun
A
visual tour of the sun using photographs, diagrams, and
movies. Subjects such as solar flares, solar wind, and
sunspots are discussed. Each page has clickable images
with text, others enlarge for closer viewing. One movie
shows the complete eclipse of the sun. Useful for
teachers and kids alike.

Since 1961 the World Wildlife Fund has been working to protect endangered species. Use this site to learn about the status of key endangered species such as tigers, elephants and giant pandas.

Patients and professionals can explore the different

illustrations and descriptions. There is an 18-page
general anatomy lesson, as well as the Interactive

Exploratorium
The Exploratorium is a museum of science, art, and human
perception located in San Francisco, California. Online
since 1993, the Exploratorium was one of the first
science museums to build a site on the World Wide Web.
Included in the site are more than 12,000 Web pages and
many sound and video files, exploring hundreds of
