Teen Summer Reading Club
June 16-July 26 (Grades 6-12)
This year's theme: "Metamorphosis @ your library"
The Glendora Public Library and the Friends Foundation are proud to sponsor the Teen Summer Reading Club. Through the generous donations of Glendora and the surrounding communities, we are able to provide these events and all reading incentives FREE to the public. If you would like to sponsor these and other library programs, ask a librarian or call (626) 852-4891.
The Glendora Public Library Teen Summer Reading Club is meant to encourage teens to continue reading, to write book reviews, attend fun programs and visit the library during the summer. The teen club is open to children going into 6th grade in the fall on up to 12th grade. The program will run for six weeks, from Monday, June 16 through Saturday, July 26. Registration, at which teens may pick out a free book and receive reporting guidelines, will begin the week of June 16, but you can sign up any time through the end of the program. All reporting will take place at the information desk on the library's main floor.
Volunteer for the Children's Summer Reading Club
If your child wants to be a volunteer for the Club, and is between the ages of 10 and 18, pick up an application in the children's room. Applications are being accepted now until all summer time slots are filled. Volunteers generally work one day per week, for a one or two hour shift, assisting the children who are reporting on the reading they did, giving out prizes, re-shelving books, helping with events and special programs, etc. If you have already signed up, you must attend one of these orientation sessions with one of your parents.
Teen Summer Reading Club EVENTS
All events are FREE and will be held upstairs in Bidwell Forum except club registration and reporting. Attendance at these programs constitutes granting permission for your photo to be used in library publicity.
